Algae light absorption evolving according to NAS study

A UK study indicates that algae could become a more efficient if engineers note the biological changes in the way the cells absorb light, observed by scientists at the University of London. Their research, published recently in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, indicates that the biological switch happening in blue-green algae could mean the process of creating fuel from algae needs less light if engineered properly, thereby making the process less expensive.
