Solar cell turns windows into generators

Researchers at Flinders University, Australia, have developed a solar cell that uses carbon nanotubes rather than the traditional silicon-based solar cells. Carbon nanotubes are a promising alternative to silicon as they are cheaper to make and more efficient than their silicon counterparts. The carbon nanotubes developed in Australia are transparent and could be “sprayed” onto windows.
