Report: Asia's demand for biofuels to surge in next few years
Asia's appetite for biofuels will likely grow in the next few years, as the region's improving economies drive up fuel consumption, said Tammy Klein, assistant vice president of consulting firm Hart Energy. Demand for ethanol and biodiesel in Asia is projected to rise to almost 2.6 billion gallons by 2015, up from 1.6 billion gallons in 2011, Hart Energy said. Ethanol consumption is expected to grow by 500 million gallons during that period, the group said.
