Exec predicts cellulosic biofuel production to boom in 2015
The CEO of the company that operates a commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol plant in Crescentino, Italy, believes 2013 will be a turning point for the industry, with about 30 million gallons of cellulosic biofuel being produced in the U.S. and Europe. By the end of 2014, global output could reach 100 million gallons, said Guido Ghisolfi, CEO of Beta Renewables. "The boom year will be 2015 with 15 to 20 plants producing hundreds of millions of gallons," Ghisolfi said.
